Services

Three services, one engineering team

RubyPlius delivers Ruby on Rails development and upgrades, AI implementation, and healthcare software. Every engagement starts with a written scope and ships in short, demoable iterations.

Ruby on Rails development & upgrades

New Rails products, feature work on existing codebases and version upgrades without a feature freeze.

  • ProblemOutdated Rails or Ruby, slow pages, fragile tests.
  • ScopeUpgrade path, performance budget, test coverage.
  • DeliveryIncremental releases to production through CI.

AI implementation

AI assistants, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over your own documents, and automated document processing.

  • ProblemKnowledge locked in PDFs, email and tickets.
  • ScopeUse case, data sources, quality metrics, guardrails.
  • DeliveryA measured pilot, then a production rollout.
AI implementation

Healthcare software

Patient and clinic platforms, HL7 FHIR integrations and medical AI, built in line with GDPR and HIPAA.

  • ProblemDisconnected systems, manual clinical admin.
  • ScopeData flows, FHIR resources, compliance controls.
  • DeliveryAudited releases with access logging.

How we work

From problem to production in four steps

We agree on the problem and a written scope before any code is written, then deliver in short iterations you can see and test. You always know what is being built, by whom and why.

  1. 01

    Discovery call

We learn about the problem, the constraints and the timeline, and tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.

    Output: notes + next steps
  2. 02

    Scope & estimate

Goals, scope, risks, team and an estimate — written down so you can check every line.

    Output: written scope
  3. 03

    Delivery

Short iterations with a demo, a changelog, code review and CI on every change.

    Output: working software
  4. 04

    Handover & support

Documentation, knowledge transfer to your team and optional ongoing maintenance.

    Output: runbook + support plan

How we handle data

How we handle your data

We treat every client dataset as regulated by default: a data processing agreement is signed before access, data stays in the EU unless agreed otherwise, and engineers get only the access a task needs.

  • DPA before access. A GDPR Art. 28 data processing agreement is in place before we touch personal data.
  • Test with less. Development and testing use anonymised or synthetic data wherever possible.
  • EU by default. Environments we operate are hosted in EU regions unless you choose otherwise.
  • Encrypted everywhere. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; secrets live in a vault, not in code.
  • BAA for US health data. For HIPAA work involving PHI we sign a Business Associate Agreement.
  • Deleted at the end. Data is returned or deleted when the engagement ends, confirmed in writing.
Healthcare

Healthcare software, built for compliance

We build patient and clinic platforms, HL7 FHIR integrations and medical AI with GDPR and HIPAA requirements designed into the architecture, not added at the end.

GDPRHIPAAHL7 FHIR R4
  • Patient portals and clinic management platforms
  • EHR / EMR integrations over HL7 FHIR
  • Medical document processing and clinical AI with human review

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what clients ask us most. Can't find yours? Ask us directly.

What does RubyPlius do?

RubyPlius is an independent Lithuanian software engineering company. We develop and upgrade Ruby on Rails applications, implement AI assistants, RAG and document processing, and build healthcare software in line with GDPR and HIPAA.

Can you upgrade our Rails app without stopping feature work?

Yes. We run the current and next Rails versions side by side (dual boot), fix deprecations in small pull requests and release each step to production, so your team keeps shipping features.

How do you start an AI project?

With one narrow use case, a set of real example questions or documents, and agreed quality metrics. We build a pilot, measure it against those metrics and only then plan a production rollout.

Do you work with health data under GDPR and HIPAA?

Yes. We sign a data processing agreement (and a Business Associate Agreement for US PHI), use least-privilege access and audit logging, and design systems to support your compliance. Certification of your product remains your organisation's responsibility.

How quickly can a project start?

Typically within 2–4 weeks of signing the scope, depending on team availability. A discovery call can usually be scheduled within the same week.
